Privacy Policy
Effective date: April 9, 2026. This policy explains what Aligned Self collects, how it is used, and the choices people have about their information.
What we collect
Aligned Self collects only the information needed to create an account, sign you in, sync your content, and run the features you choose to use.
- Account information, such as your email address, first name, and account creation date.
- Authentication and security records, such as hashed magic-link tokens, session records, sign-in timestamps, IP address, and browser or device user-agent details used to protect the service.
- Content you choose to save in the app, including goals, mood entries, daily log notes, gratitude entries, and commitments.
- Apple Health data you choose to share through HealthKit, such as activity, sleep, mindfulness, workout, or other wellness-related data used only to power app features you enable.
- Location data, if you grant permission, used to provide weather, local context, or location-based app experiences.
- Weather information related to your approximate or precise location when you use weather-enabled features.
- Subscription and entitlement status provided through Apple so premium access can be managed.
- Notification preferences stored on your device for Manifestation Alarm reminders.
Apple Health and HealthKit data
Aligned Self may request permission to read selected Apple Health data through HealthKit so that wellness, reflection, habit, weather, or manifestation features can be personalized based on the data you choose to share.
HealthKit permissions are optional and controlled by you. You can enable, disable, or change HealthKit access at any time in the Apple Health app or iOS Settings.
HealthKit data is used only to provide and improve the health, wellness, and app features you choose to use. We do not use HealthKit data for advertising, marketing, cross-app tracking, or selling to advertisers.
We do not share HealthKit data with third-party advertising platforms, data brokers, or analytics services for advertising purposes.
Weather and location use
Aligned Self may use your location, if you grant permission, to provide weather-related features, local conditions, or context-aware content in the app.
Depending on the feature, the app may use approximate location or precise location. You can change or revoke location access at any time in iOS Settings.
Weather and location data are used only to provide the app features you request, maintain reliability, and improve the relevance of in-app experiences.
How we use information
- To create and secure your account.
- To send sign-in emails and let you access Aligned Self.
- To sync your saved goals, diary, gratitude, and reflection content across sessions.
- To show the daily content and guides available in the app.
- To provide HealthKit-powered wellness features when you grant Apple Health permissions.
- To provide weather or location-based features when you grant location permission.
- To manage premium access and restore purchases.
- To support reminders you enable and to keep the service secure and reliable.
How information is stored
Account information and content you save in Aligned Self may be stored on our servers so your account and saved content can be available across sessions.
Some information, such as notification preferences and certain device settings, may be stored locally on your device.
Apple Health data may remain on your device unless a feature requires server-side storage or syncing. Where HealthKit-derived data is stored by Aligned Self, it is treated as sensitive information and protected accordingly.
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect personal information from unauthorized access, loss, misuse, or alteration.
How information is shared
We do not sell your personal information. We only share data when it is needed to operate the app or when required by law.
- Apple processes in-app purchases and subscription billing under Apple's own privacy terms.
- Our hosting, database, email, weather, and infrastructure providers may process data on our behalf so the app can function.
- Weather service providers may receive location or approximate location information when needed to return weather data for features you use.
- We do not share Apple Health or HealthKit data with advertisers, data brokers, or advertising networks.
- We may disclose information if required to comply with legal obligations, enforce our terms, or protect the rights, safety, and security of our users or services.
Tracking, analytics, and advertising
Aligned Self does not currently use third-party advertising SDKs, does not sell data to advertisers, and does not use app tracking for cross-app advertising purposes.
Apple Health and HealthKit data is never used for advertising, targeted advertising, marketing profiles, or cross-app tracking.
Notifications
If you enable Manifestation Alarm reminders, the schedule you choose is stored on your device and used to request local notifications. You can turn notifications off at any time in the app or in iOS Settings.
Data retention
We keep account information and saved content while your account remains active so the app can work as expected. Security-related sign-in and session records may be retained for longer where needed for fraud prevention, troubleshooting, or legal compliance.
HealthKit-derived data and location-related data are retained only for as long as needed to provide the features you use, meet legal obligations, resolve disputes, maintain security, or support account recovery and troubleshooting.
When information is no longer needed, we delete it or de-identify it where reasonably possible.
Your choices
- You can update or delete the content you save inside the app at any time where app features allow.
- You can log out whenever you want.
- You can cancel subscriptions through your Apple account settings.
- You can manage HealthKit permissions in the Apple Health app or iOS Settings.
- You can manage location permissions in iOS Settings.
- You can turn notifications off in the app or in iOS Settings.
- You can request a copy or export of your account information and saved content by contacting hello@emilysapps.ltd.
- You can request deletion of your account and associated content by contacting hello@emilysapps.ltd.
Deletion and export requests
You may request deletion or export of your account information and saved content by contacting hello@emilysapps.ltd. We may need to verify your identity before completing the request.
When you request deletion, we will delete or de-identify account information and saved content unless we need to retain limited information for legal, security, fraud prevention, dispute resolution, or compliance purposes.
Deleting the app from your device may not delete account information already stored on our servers. To delete server-side account information, please request account deletion.
Some Apple Health data may remain in the Apple Health app or on your device after you delete your Aligned Self account. You can manage or delete Apple Health data through Apple Health or iOS Settings.
Children
Aligned Self is not intended for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make material changes, we will update the effective date on this page.
