RUN WALK PRO

A little help for your next run.

Run Walk Pro support for iPhone and Apple Watch.

Build a workout that fits you

Create a workout with individual steps or repeating groups. Choose warm-up, walk, slow run, run, fast run or cool-down, set each duration and optionally add a target pace or speed. Starter workouts are examples: try one, or customise and save it as your own. Choose “Just go for a run” for an open run without a preset finish time.

Three free runs, then Pro

Your first three completed, saved runs are free, with no payment details required. Discarded recordings do not count. After that, a subscription is required to start more runs. The UK subscription price is £2.99 every three months and renews automatically until cancelled. Other countries use the local price shown in the app and Apple’s purchase confirmation. The three free runs do not automatically convert into a paid subscription.

Manage or restore your subscription

Open the You tab for subscription options, Restore purchases and subscription management. Use the Apple Account that purchased Pro when restoring. On iPhone, you can also manage or cancel under Settings → your name → Subscriptions. Deleting the app does not cancel your subscription. Saved history remains accessible without an active subscription. The free-run allowance is stored on this device; deleting journal entries does not restore it.

Record on iPhone

Choose Outdoor and allow location access to record distance, speed and your route. Recording can continue while the screen is locked. Pause when you stop, then finish and save the run to your journal. GPS accuracy depends on your surroundings and device settings. Indoor phone mode provides timing but does not measure treadmill distance or infer it from your target speed.

Use your Apple Watch

Install Pro on your paired Watch. Choose the Watch option on iPhone and start the workout. Wait until the workout appears on your Watch before leaving the phone behind. You can follow intervals, pause, resume and finish on your wrist. Save to Pro keeps a journal recording; Pro + Apple Health also saves to Health. Completed recordings transfer to the iPhone when the devices reconnect. Keep both apps installed until the recording arrives.

Using a treadmill or another Watch workout app

Apple Watch supports one active Health workout session at a time. Use Pro as the Watch recorder, or choose the iPhone option in Pro if you want Apple’s Workout app to record separately on the Watch. Pro does not directly connect to or control treadmill equipment. Indoor Watch distance is an estimate and may differ from the treadmill display.

Apple Health without unnecessary copies

Saving locally in Pro is separate from exporting to Apple Health. You can export a phone recording from its details. Pro remembers the Health workout identifier so exporting the same run again does not create another copy. Optional Health read access checks for overlapping workouts and lets you link an existing record. Without that access, Pro cannot reliably check recordings made by another app. Keep only one Health copy if you recorded elsewhere.

Your journal and personal bests

Find saved runs in Journal and filter by name, date or distance. Bests shows your fastest 5K, 10K, half marathon (21.0975 km) and marathon (42.195 km), including qualifying sections within longer runs. Tap a best to open its source recording. Only runs recorded in Pro are included; past Apple Health workouts are not imported. Best-effort times include pauses. Distance samples and GPS are estimates, so these are not certified race results.

Units, targets and progress

Choose metric or imperial distance and your preferred speed or pace units in You. Target pace entries use decimal minutes: 5.5 means 5 minutes 30 seconds. Targets guide your workout; they do not control a treadmill or automatically adjust your speed. Warm-up has its own countdown and is excluded from the overall interval progress. An open run counts up instead of counting down.

Alerts and background use

Allow notifications for phone interval alerts and check sound and Focus settings. Supported interval workouts can show a Live Activity on the Lock Screen or Dynamic Island; open runs do not currently use this display. Watch alerts depend on workout permissions and the Watch’s sound and haptic settings. If GPS or Health access is denied, related recording features are limited.

If the purchase screen is waiting

The subscription screen shows when it is loading, waiting for Apple or restoring a purchase. Wait for the request to finish; repeat taps are disabled. If an error appears, check your connection and retry. Restore purchases can recover an existing subscription without buying it again.

Deleting recordings and keeping your data

Delete a run from its details to remove it from the Pro journal. Copies saved in Apple Health must be managed separately there. Pro does not provide an account-based cloud journal or sync history between iPhones. Local files may be included in your device backups according to Apple’s settings. Before deleting the app or replacing your device, make sure you understand what your device backup includes.
